Alteration of Motion Segment Integrity (AOMSI) is a documented finding used in the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment to describe abnormal vertebral motion, measured as translation (one vertebra sliding relative to the one below it) or angular motion between adjacent spinal segments on flexion and extension X-rays.
